If I had a 57 bel air I'd probably replace the rubber bumper bullets with chrome ones. Not a big deal just something to put the icing on the cake.

You can never have enough chrome on a 57.
Even the corvette got in on the act for 1958, with the chrome trunk spears.

I personally don’t mind the chrome spears on the trunk lid, I don’t like the wash board hood tho. Both make the 58 unique. Bit like the 73’s front/rear bumper treatment.

It’s all down to personal taste. I wonder how many new sales were lost ( if any?) by a potential buyer not liking those spears. But being the chrome laden 50’s more was better to most folks.

I recommend watching lowrider meets/cruises on youtube. Sadly the ugly buick grand national keeps showing up.

Those “ugly” Grand Nationals were one quick mother back in the day. They are still not too shabby today. I personally have never really liked them . Was at the Daytona show one year and there must have been 60 of them all parked together. Being black, from the air it probably looked like an oil spill.
